Worship with Us

Liturgical Worship

Our worship service is similar to many Protestant liturgical worship services. Members of the congregation are encouraged to engage in the worship service with responses, reading along with Scripture lessons, singing hymns, and reciting the creeds of the faith. Our worship is distinctly Trinitarian and centered on glorifying our Triune God and exalting the name of Jesus.

"Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."Acts 4:12 (NKJV).

Holy Communion

In some traditions Holy Communion is observed every Sunday. In other traditions it is observed as few as one or two times each year. At Boger Reformed Church, we observe Holy Communion at least once each month. We celebrate Holy Communion using a common cup (of wine) and unleavened bread.

After the pastor blesses the bread and wine with the words of Jesus, the congregation comes forward to receive the elements. The pastor dips a piece of bread into the cup (this is called intinction)  and gives one to each communicant. As he does this, the pastor looks the recipient in the eyes and says, "The body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ which is given for you, preserve your body and soul into everlasting life. Take this in remembrance that Christ died for you and be thankful."
